In Australia, osteopaths are registered allied primary healthcare practitioners who train at university for a minimum of 4.5 years.

Osteopaths learn anatomy, physiology, systemic clinical pathophysiology and presentations across the lifespan to be able to manage a variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. They are also proficient in manual therapy techniques such as massage, stretching, joint mobilisation and spinal manipulation.

Osteopaths utilise this knowledge to be able to develop a treatment plan focused on the individual patient to help them reach their goals.
