Relieve Pain and Improve Function with Our Assessment and Treatment Plan
Thorough Assessment and Customised Treatment: Our Approach to Musculoskeletal Complaints.
1
Complaint History
At the initial appointment, we conduct a thorough assessment of your musculoskeletal complaint. We will discuss how it began, and how it has progressed over time.
We will also review your relevant medical history, including any past surgeries or injuries. This information will help us to develop an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan that takes into account your unique medical history and overall health status.
2
Musculoskeletal Assessment
During the consultation, it may be necessary for you to disrobe in order to perform a thorough physical examination.
We understand that this can be a sensitive issue, and we want to assure you that we will provide comfortable robes to wear if needed, to ensure your comfort and privacy.
We perform a thorough examination of your body’s range of movement and locate areas causing pain or restrictions of motion.
3
Diagnosis
To help confirm a diagnosis and better understand your overall health status, our Osteo may need to perform additional tests such as checking your blood pressure and conducting orthopaedic testing.
Once we have completed a thorough assessment of your musculoskeletal complaint history and physical examination, we will work with you to develop a diagnosis and create a customised treatment plan. Our goal is to provide you with the most effective and individualised care possible, using a combination of hands-on therapy and rehabilitation techniques.
4
Hands On Therapy
If your musculoskeletal complaint requires hands-on treatment, some of the techniques that we may use to treat your condition include soft and deep tissue massage, stretching, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, dry needle therapy, joint mobilisation, and manipulation.
These techniques are designed to help relieve pain, reduce inflammation, improve mobility, and restore function to the affected area.
During your treatment, your osteopath will discuss these techniques with you in detail and will address any concerns or questions that you may have.
5
Home exercise and management
We will provide you with a range of advice and strategies to help you recover from your injury and prevent re-injury in the future. These strategies may include:
6
Continued care
We understand that your musculoskeletal complaint can have a significant impact on your overall health and wellbeing, and that effective treatment often requires a coordinated and collaborative approach
This may involve liaising with your GP or other allied health practitioners, to coordinate your care and ensure that all aspects of your treatment are aligned. By working together in this way, we can help to ensure that your treatment is comprehensive, effective, and tailored to your specific needs and goals.
